Upon the filing of a guardianship petition, the Court shall request that KCWS complete a fingerprint FBI criminal background check and child abuse central registry check on all adults in the proposed guardian’s home. The results of the background checks must be provided to the Court prior to the initial hearing whenever possible, and no later than two (2) weeks from the Court’s request unless good cause exists for the Court to extend that time frame.
