(A) In the event that two (2) or more candidates for the same office receive an equal number of votes, and it is not possible for both candidates to take office due to the filling of all available positions, then a run-off election shall be held.

(B) A run-off election shall be held in the same manner as a general election as provided by this chapter, except that only the candidates who received equal numbers of votes shall be candidates in the run-off. The candidate receiving the highest number of votes in the run-off election shall be elected to the position.

(C) Any successful candidate who is not involved in a run-off election or election contest may be sworn in and assume office, pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. [Ord. 5 § 22, 8/23/2018.]
