(A) Civil Remedies. If a petitioner proves a violation of a protective order, the Court may impose a civil penalty of up to five hundred dollars ($500) for each violation, and modify the protective order to include any additional terms necessary to protect the petitioner.

(B) Nothing in This Code Prevents Criminal Prosecution. Nothing in this Code prevents a criminal prosecution in this, or any other jurisdiction, for any actions that resulted in the issuance of a protection order under this Code, or which constituted a violation of a protection order under this Code.
